About the artist
Ross is an artist, MMA enthusiast, coffee lover, Christian, husband and father of two daughters. He lives on the Essex coast in the United Kingdom where he paints in his custom built home studio.
Ross has been painting and drawing since he was a child and his love for art grew as he did. Ross has been working as a full time artist since 2016 and worked as a part time artist for many years previously. His first commissioned work was aged just 18 when he started painting wall murals which eventually lead to putting paint to canvas. He gradually started building up a portfolio and set up an online business page which received some amazing feedback giving him the confidence to pursue his dream of being an artist with even more passion.
Being a lifelong fan of combat sports he particularly enjoys painting explosive shots from Boxing and MMA fights while much of his other work features iconic characters from movies and the music industry. Ross’ work also encompasses animals, nature, abstracts and his particular favourite, creating movie crossover paintings, blending iconic characters and scenes into epic masterpieces.
“My niche is the absence of a niche”
After years of experimenting with acrylic paint in different styles, techniques and subject matter, Ross came to the realisation that this was his true artistic identity. Rather than confining himself to a single style or theme, he embraced the freedom to explore, experiment, and merge influences—creating art that is ever-evolving, unexpected, and uniquely his own.
Owners of Ross’ work include a number of MMA/UFC fighters, boxers and other celebrities including Joe Rogan, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Nate Diaz, Dana White, Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Harry Redknapp, Ricky Gervais and many more.
Ross had no formal art training beyond school so is essentially self-taught and is constantly refining his skills and evolving his techniques. Ross’ first big break came in 2016 after he had an idea to create a painting of British boxer Nick Blackwell after he fell into a coma following a fight. Ross decided to paint something to auction and raise money for a GoFundMe charity set up for the fighter. In order to promote the auction Ross took to Twitter and to his surprise his work was soon shared by many top name boxers. Naturally he then felt compelled to upload more and more of his work onto Twitter and other social media which ultimately led to a bigger and bigger following and a surge in interest and commissions then before he knew it he was ready to take the plunge and finally ditch his old job for life as a full time professional artist.
When Ross isn’t painting he can be found cold dipping in his ice bath or the (usually freezing!) North Sea, walking his rescue dogs Woody and Clyde, helping out at Church, playing the piano and hanging out with his wife and daughters. Ross loves exploring the outdoors, music, film (especially 80’s classics!) and photography.
